Description
The WWI Imperial German Blue Max Medal from Reddick Militaria is single sided, featuring nicely detailed eagles, correct pale blue enamelling, the later, post-1915 open wire loop suspension, and gilt finish. Furnished complete with the proper black and silver neck ribbon.
Instituted in 1740, the official name is the "Pour Le Merite", but is more commonly known as the "Blue Max". Medals were originally made of gold, and later, after 1916, they were made of silver-gilt. All medals were jeweler made and differed slightly from maker to maker.
