Description
Original U.S. WWII Model M1910 canteen covers, were designed to carry the standard-issue 1-quart aluminum or stainless steel canteen along with its matching cup. Constructed from durable olive drab canvas, the cover features two metal "lift-the-dot" snap closures on the front and a wool felt lining to help insulate the canteen and retain moisture for cooling.
Equipped with a metal M1910 belt hook on the back, it easily attaches to standard U.S. web belts and field gear. Most covers are marked with “U.S.” on the front and may include manufacturer stamps and dates on the reverse or sometimes on an interior flap. Issued to all branches of the U.S. military except the Marine Corps, the M1910 canteen cover was a key component of every soldier’s field kit during World War II, prized for its functionality and rugged construction.
