Description
The U.S. World War II Shotgun Shell Ammo Pouch was issued primarily to military police, guards, and select combat troops armed with trench or riot shotguns. Constructed from durable OD canvas, the pouch was designed to hold 12-gauge shotgun shells, typically in two internal rows of loops or compartments for quick access and organized storage.
The flap is secured with lift-the-dot snap closures, and the rear features web belt loops for attachment to a standard belt. Some pouches were marked with “U.S.” on the front and often stamped with the manufacturer’s name and date under the flap. These pouches were used with shotguns like the Winchester Model 1897, Model 1912, or Ithaca 37, and are now considered scarce and collectible items of U.S. WWII militaria, especially in good condition.
