Social Welfare Medal

In 1939, the Red Cross Medal was replaced by the new, Social Welfare Medal with the newly designed national eagle. This was awarded to recognize meritorious service in welfare, lifesaving service, the Winter Help programs and the care of sick and wounded in peace and wartime.

Reproduced from an original in our collection, this medal features exquisite details and is finished in antique silver plate. The ribbon is the correct width, white with a wide red center stripe.
