WWII German Oberkommando der Wehrmacht Feldjäger Armband

The Oberkommando der Wehrmacht - Feldjäger Armband was worn on the left sleeve by members of the Feldjägerkorps and consisted of a red cotton band with black printed lettering. It has a row of reinforced stitching along the top and bottom edges and joined in back with machined stitched, vertical seam.

Accurately printed and period correct, Reddick Militaria's armbands are copied directly from original Third Reich pieces and feature correctly styled lettering in the proper colors. They are printed on high quality, heavy cotton fabric of the correct color and are approximately 4" wide.

This force was formed by the German High Command in September of 1944 from front line combat experienced soldiers who had been decorated for gallantry with at least the Iron Cross Second Class, thus giving them the moral, as well as legal authority, to direct other troops. Their main purpose was to maintain order and discipline immediately behind the front lines, to round up stragglers, and to gather any useable men and materials and direct them to the front.

It was intended that the Feldjäger should also wear a Gorget, identical to the Army Feldgendarmerie type but with the “Feldgendarmerie” scroll replaced by one bearing the inscription “Feldjägerkorps”. While such Gorgets were certainly manufactured, testimony of surviving members of the Feldjägerkorps suggests that they were not widely issued.
