Description

This General Assault Badge in Silver is the heavy, die-struck version, with superb detail. The pin is the round type, with a wire hook on a flat disc base, and the hinge being the type formed from sheet metal. The solid back is smooth, with no maker mark.

The General Assault Badge was instituted on June 1,1940, under the same regulations as the Infantry Combat Badge, the Commander-in-Chief of the Army created a special combat badge for other soldiers to include those troops of the assault artillery who, along with other infantry or armored units, as well as their own units, who may qualify for the Infantry Combat Badge shall be awarded the General Assault Badge. The award criteria for the General Assault Badge is the same as for the Infantry Combat Badge.

Translated from Medals & Decorations of the Third Reich, by SS Colonel Dr. Heinrich Doehle. Copyright 1995, J. Rex Reddick:

We have a limited quantity of these very fine quality reproduction combat badges. Almost indistinguishable from the originals, they feature exquisite details and are complete with proper maker marks, correct type pins, hinges and original type silver plating or fire-gilt. You will not be disappointed in these!
