Reddick Militaria's reproduction WWII German Paratrooper Knife or "Gravity Knife" is the desirable "take-down model" which was introduced in 1937 and issued to Luftwaffe Fallschirmjaeger members. Used by German Paratroopers during WWII to free themselves from tangled parachute cords, they were made in two versions. This "take-down model" of the knife can be disassembled; however, there is really no need to do so. The blade is released by the lever on the side of the handle and slides in and out using gravity, as they are not spring loaded.

There is also a spike on the side housing which was used for untangling knots, and a swiveling loop on the butt end for attaching a lanyard. The wooden handles are nicely finished walnut, and each knife is RB numbered and Waffenamt marked just like the originals, making them the finest reproductions on the market.

Operation of the Knife: To release the blade, hold the knife in a downward position and push the lever forward. When the blade is completely extended, release the lever and the blade will be locked in place. To retract the blade, follow the same steps holding the knife upright.

Dimensions: Overall, closed: 6-1/16". Open, with blade extended: 10".

Warning: The blades are sharpened. Also most of these are not perfect and can have a nick or dent in the handle.

NOTE: These parts are not interchangeable with originals and cannot be used for repairing period models.
