Embroidered Kreta Cuff Title

Cuff Titles were awarded for service in various campaigns and theaters, and they were authorized for wear on the left sleeve of uniform jackets and overcoats. 

Our Kreta Cuff Title is machine embroidered in yellow-gold cotton thread on a white cotton band. Acanthus leaves bracket the title word "Kreta", and matching color soutache borders the edges of the band. The correct style lettering and materials make this an excellent reproduction of a very rare award.

The Kreta title was instituted on October 16, 1942 and awarded to personnel who made a parachute or glider landing on the island of Crete between May 20 and 27, took part in the air campaign over Crete, or were in active Kriegsmarine service at sea in the Crete theater up until May 27, 1942.
