Indian Wars Medal 1865 - 1898

Awarded to members of the Army who served in any of the 12 different major campaigns against hostile Indians from 1865 to 1891. The obverse features a mountain Indian wearing a warbonnet and carrying a spear, plus a buffalo skull and arrowheads. The reverse shows the U.S. Eagle and the words "United States Army-For Service”.
