Charles-de-Gaulle.org
For de Gaulle the greater interest of the homeland meant that at the end of a war that was not yet over, France would be among the ranks of the victors. As this war was certain to be a world war, the future entry of the great powers, who would not accept German domination of Europe, had to be taken into account. Nothing could be more modern than this judgement : France was not alone, its destiny would not be in isolation, the fate of the world as well as of France was at stake, the future choices of France depended on Europe and the world. That is exactly what we have to do when we take the decisions that are before us today. Extensive online resources, articles, photos.
