This exquisite piece is a copy of the formal baton, or Marschallstab, presented to Field Marshal Albert Kesselring upon his promotion to Generalfeldmarschall of the Army (Heer). The multi-piece construction is just like the original and is plated in high quality gold and silver. Forty separately applied devices adorn the blue velvet covered shaft, consisting of closed-wing, Wehrmacht eagles in gold alternating with Iron Crosses in silver with black enamel centers. The raised lettering around the top and bottom inscription rings include Kesselring's name, rank, date, and appreciation message from the German people. The end caps feature a Wehrmacht eagle at one end and the Iron Cross at the other. This high quality, full-size metal piece weighs almost six pounds and measures 20.5" overall (2" diameter, 5" circumference). It is furnished complete with its own custom-fitted, presentation case (24.5" x 6" 4") lined in white, velvet-like material and covered in black leatherette.
